No Position Summary The Risk Management Manager provides strategic leadership and oversight for the college's comprehensive enterprise risk management program, ensuring institutional risks are proactively identified, assessed, mitigated, and monitored across all operational and academic areas. This position is responsible for developing and implementing institution-wide risk prevention and reduction strategies, including insurance administration, claims management, safety initiatives, incident reporting systems, and internal risk controls that support the college's long-term operational stability and regulatory compliance. The manager leads the evaluation of organizational risks associated with major initiatives, contracts, capital projects, technology implementations, campus events, and academic operations, while advising executive leadership and departments on risk exposure and mitigation strategies. This role oversees the institutions insurance portfolio, claims management processes, and risk management budget, ensuring effective stewardship of financial and operational resources. The position establishes college-wide standards for incident reporting, investigation, and risk communication, and leads investigations of significant incidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions and prevention strategies. Through analysis of institutional claims, incident trends, and insurance data, the manager identifies systemic risks and recommends policy enhancements, operational improvements, and program redesigns that strengthen organizational resilience and support the college's mission, safety, and compliance objectives. Essential Duties Directs and manages the creation of institution's enterprise risk management program, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, mitigated, and monitored across all divisions. Leads the design and implementation of campus-wide risk prevention and reduction programs (e.g., insurance management, safety initiatives, incident reporting systems). Manages the organizations insurance portfolio, including property, liability, cyber, workers¿ compensation, and specialty coverages. Oversees the institutions claims management processes, including liability, cyber, property damage claims, and coordination with third-party administrators. Develops, recommends, and implements risk related policies, procedures, internal controls, and technology that affect multiple departments and influence long term organizational practices. Establishes institution wide standards for incident reporting, investigation, and risk communication. Develops and manages the risk management budget, including insurance premiums, claims reserves, and program expenditures. Conducts risk assessments for major initiatives, contracts, capital projects, technology implementations, and academic/operational programs. Leads investigations of critical incidents, identifying root causes and recommending prevention strategies that affect long term policy. Performs trend analysis of institutional claims, incidents, and insurance data to identify systemic issues and propose organizational improvements. Oversees vendor, contractor, and third party insurance credentialing, including certificates of insurance and compliance with institutional risk standards. Evaluates the effectiveness of risk controls, safety initiatives, and compliance programs, advising leadership on necessary redesigns or policy shifts. Advises departments on risk implications of contracts, partnerships, facilities use, campus events, and other institutional initiatives and priorities. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Public Administration or related field; 2 years of experience related to the job function;
Preferred:
experience in enterprise risk management and Associate in Risk Management certification.
