We are currently seeking an Assistant Claims/Risk Manager to join our team at our Kansas City office in Kansas City, KS. Position Overview The Assistant Claims/Risk Manager plays an important role in supporting Catholic Mutual Group's claims and risk management operations. This position is responsible for investigating claims, conducting safety inspections, and promoting risk awareness across insured locations. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, experience in property and liability insurance, and a commitment to service, safety, and effective risk management. Key Responsibilities
  • Verify coverage and investigate, evaluate, and negotiate fair settlements for property, liability, and auto claims
  • Conduct annual safety inspections and promote risk awareness through seminars and educational materials
  • Monitor risk management policies and assist with updates to ensure they remain current
  • Perform site inspections to confirm appropriate property coverage and limits
  • Maintain effective communication with diocesan personnel, pastors, and administrators
  • Serve as a liaison between the Arch/Diocese and the CMG Home Office
  • Respond to emergencies and claims-related issues outside regular business hours as needed Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Three to five years of property claims adjusting experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of insurance, marketing, rates, and communications
  • Familiarity with Catholic Church procedures and hierarchy preferred, but not required
  • Strong judgment and sound decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible or irregular hours as needed Benefits
