Risk Manager:

The Risk Manager plays a vital role in maintaining the safety and accountability of the facility, ensuring that the highest standards of patient care are met Thoroughly investigate and report all occurrences / incidents within the facility in compliance with the New York State Department of Health (DOH) regulations and internal policies and guidelines Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess and improve the effectiveness of the risk management program, providing education and counseling to staff as needed Utilize Occurrence Logs to document and report all incidents in accordance with the NYS DOH Incident Reporting manual Assess liability and financial risks, including but not limited to falls, medication errors, abuse, neglect, and hazardous conditions Provide regular reports on ongoing investigations to the Administrator, Director of Nursing Services (DNS), and the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) Conduct safety meetings to ensure that the facility remains a safe and secure environment Initiate and oversee all investigations and notifications to relevant authorities when necessary Issue timely reports to regulatory agencies and governing authorities in compliance with regulations Represent the facility at audits, inspections, and investigations conducted by governing authorities

Qualifications:

Valid, unencumbered New York RN license. Minimum 2 years of experience in risk management in SNF. Must have nursing home experience Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Empathetic and professional in all interactions with residents, families, and staff.
