Chief Administrative Officer Role Objective:
The Risk Manager & Compliance Officer oversees the organization's risk management and compliance programs, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and patient safety standards. This role leads investigations, supports corrective actions, and coordinates compliance and risk initiatives across the organization. Key Responsibilities Risk Management  Identify organizational risks through assessments, benchmarking, and data review; implement strategies that enhance patient and workplace safety.  Manage the incident reporting process, including trend analysis and prevention initiatives.  Respond promptly to serious incidents, ensuring proper documentation, follow-up actions, and learning.  Conduct annual evaluations of the risk management and patient safety programs.  Lead risk reporting, including quarterly board reports, risk assessments, and the annual HIPAA Risk Assessment.  Oversee environment-of-care plans and conduct regular safety rounding.  Investigate claims, including malpractice, and all identified HIPAA concerns, breaches, or threats. Responsible for claims management and processing of claims related activities. Compliance  Oversee and monitor the development and implementation of the Compliance Program through establishment and maintenance of the Compliance Plan, policies and procedures and an annual compliance work plan.  Coordinate the Compliance Committee and support the development, monitoring, and improvement of the organization's compliance systems.  Review and update policies, monitor policy schedules, ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, consider changes in the needs of the health centers, change in the law and/or in the standards and procedures of government and private payor health plans.  Prepare required regulatory reports and maintain knowledge of FQHC-related compliance standards (FTCA, HRSA, etc.).  Ensure that the health center is operating in compliance with HRSA directives.  Lead or support compliance audits and site visits (HRSA OSV, FTCA, etc.).  Train employees on compliance and HIPAA requirements.  Serve as the liaison between regulatory agencies, leadership, and internal departments.  Report information on the activities of the compliance program to the board of directors. Safety & Emergency Preparedness  Coordinate emergency and disaster preparedness activities in alignment with CMS and HRSA standards.  Work with managers to designate safety Officers across sites; provide education and facilitate regular meetings. Quality & Clinical Programs  Collaborate with the CMO on provider peer review processes.  Lead monthly Documentation Integrity meetings to support quality improvement efforts. Other  Build eƯective relationships with external partners and stakeholders.  Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications  Proven management experience in risk assessment, compliance, and policy/regulatory processes.  Graduate of an approved LPN program.  Minimum of five years clinical experience. Skills  Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, patient safety practices, and compliance processes.  Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.  Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
