Job Description
Wofford College is seeking a Director of Business Services and Risk Management . The Director of Business Services and RiskManagement provides leadership and oversight for the College's procurement, vendor management, business services, and risk managementfunctions. This position is responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures that support operational efficiency,regulatory compliance, effective risk mitigation, and exceptional service to the campus community. The Director oversees key vendorrelationships, including food service and bookstore operations, manages the campus post office, and leads institutional efforts related toemergency preparedness and risk management best practices. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of BusinessServices and Risk Management is a full-time, exempt position with a normal work schedule of 37.5 hours per week. Occasional evening andweekend work may be required. Duties and Responsibilities Manages relationship between the College and foodservice and campus bookstore vendors, ensuring high standards and exemplary customer service to faculty, staff and students Develops, implements and monitors policies and procedures governing the College's procurement process Reviews leasing andpurchasing contracts, and presents them to appropriate Vice President for approval Supervise and manage the campus post office toensure effective and efficient service to students, faculty and staff Leads the process for monitoring the College's compliancewith risk management policies, procedures and best practices in the industry Coordinates, as applicable, with the College'sdedicated risk manager at EIIA insurance consortium and external legal counsel With the assistance and cooperation of otherdepartments, facilitates compliance with applicable laws and regulations Chairs the College's emergency preparedness committee Communicates with, trains and builds relationships with department heads and buyers Proactively seeks to enhanceknowledge of industry best practices and College processes to identify ways to reduce cost and increase efficiency Maintains andmonitors compliance with the College's travel and expense reimbursement and purchasing card policies Establishes and maintainsinternal website containing important procurement and risk management documents for use by the College community Maintains anddevelops vendor relationships for the College Assists co-workers and supervisors with other tasks and duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to implement andmanage change within an organization Systems experience with accounting software, as well as advanced knowledge of computerapplications, especially Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite products Strong business sense with proven ability tooversee projects and negotiate with external vendors Ability to work independently to address non-routine problems or challenges Excellent organizational skills and ability to advance ideas through to implementation Experience within highereducation or non-profit environment and experience with Workday ERP system preferred Certified Purchasing Manager preferred Education/Experience Bachelor's degree required, degree in a business-related field preferred 5-10 years experience in a related field, experience in higher education strongly preferred
