Job Description

Options Trader — Independent Consultant About the Role Youngquist LLC is a proprietary trading firm seeking experienced options traders to engage as independent consultants. You'll trade firm capital in the options markets, applying your own edge within defined risk parameters. This is an autonomous, performance-driven role for traders who can generate consistent, risk-adjusted returns without day-to-day supervision. Responsibilities Develop and execute options strategies (directional, volatility, spreads, income, hedging) using firm capital Actively manage positions with disciplined risk control and position sizing Operate within assigned risk limits, drawdown thresholds, and buying-power constraints Monitor Greeks exposure (delta, gamma, theta, vega) at both the position and portfolio level Maintain detailed trade records and P&L attribution Adapt strategy to shifting volatility regimes and market conditions Communicate performance, risk, and positioning with the firm's risk desk Required Qualifications Solid command of options mechanics: pricing, the Greeks, implied vs. realized volatility, time decay, and assignment/exercise risk Working knowledge of multi-leg structures (verticals, calendars, straddles/strangles, iron condors, etc.) A demonstrable track record of profitable trading — live or rigorously documented; be prepared to discuss your edge and historical performance Strong risk-management discipline and composure under pressure Proficiency with trading platforms and a range of order types Self-directed and accountable for your own P&L Preferred Qualifications Prior experience trading proprietary or firm capital Quantitative or programming skills (e.g., Python) for strategy development or automation A defined niche: volatility arbitrage, market making, earnings/event trading, index options, etc. Portfolio-level risk and hedging experience
