About the role The Associate Trader is responsible for executing complex securities transactions that carry significant financial, client, and organizational impact. This role ensures all trades are executed fairly, efficiently, and in alignment with firm guidelines, while minimizing market impact and maintaining strict adherence to regulatory and operational standards. The Associate Trader will manage order flow with speed and precision, oversee proper trade settlements, and actively monitor market conditions to provide timely insights to both the Investment Management team as well as Relationship Management teams and other stakeholders. What you'll do Trade Execution & Market Impact Execute securities trades accurately, equitably, and in a timely manner, ensuring minimal market impact and no bias toward originating sources. Monitor market conditions, pricing, and trading activity to inform execution strategy and communicate relevant developments to Portfolio Managers. Ensure all trades are processed in accordance with firm policies, regulatory requirements, and best execution standards. Execute block trading and management of large trade orders. Trade Recording & Compliance Accurately record all executed trades and provide timely reporting to Portfolio Managers when required. Maintain complete and compliant documentation for all transactions, ensuring adherence to internal procedures, collateral requirements, and industry conventions. Support audit readiness through organized and thorough recordkeeping. Operational Support Partner with the Investment Operations Team Lead to support day-to-day trading operations and drive operational efficiency. Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reduce risk, and enhance execution processes. Act as a collaborative partner across investment and operations teams. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 1-3 Years trading experience. Series 65 license required within three months of hire. Experience Strong knowledge of investment products, market structures, execution strategies, and regulatory frameworks. Understanding of how trading activity influences market pricing and liquidity, with the ability to execute accordingly. Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Decisive and results-driven, with the ability to perform under pressure in fast-moving market environments. Self-motivated with sound judgment and the ability to work independently. Prior experience with programming languages such as SQL, Python.
