Securities Lending Trader, Prime Services, Vice President Onsite - Jersey City Who we are looking for State Street Prime Services is an alternative to traditional prime brokerage, providing clients with the ability to borrow securities and obtain financing through a segregated custody model. This structure reduces counterparty risk, enhances transparency, and provides clients with greater control over their assets, delivering an efficient and capital-conscious solution for alternative investment strategies. Prime Services has been serving a global client base for more than fifteen years and remains one of the fastest-growing businesses within State Street. We are seeking an experienced Securities Lending Trader to join our North American team. This individual will play a key role in managing and growing our securities lending franchise by developing client and counterparty relationships, sourcing and optimizing borrows, identifying new trading opportunities, and delivering financing solutions to institutional investors. The successful candidate will combine strong market expertise, commercial acumen, and relationship management skills to drive revenue growth and help expand State Street's presence in the securities finance landscape. What you will be responsible for As a Vice President Securities Lending Trader in Prime Services, you will Borrow and lend securities to facilitate client short sales and financing activities across global markets. Manage and optimize inventory utilization, balancing client demand, funding considerations, regulatory requirements, and balance sheet efficiency. Structure and negotiate securities lending and financing transactions, identifying hard-to-borrow opportunities, special situations, and market dislocations to maximize profitability while effectively managing risk Provide market color, borrow intelligence, and trading insights to hedge fund clients, portfolio managers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders. Develop and maintain strong relationships with hedge funds, broker-dealers, agent lenders, and other securities finance counterparties. Partner closely with Sales and Client Management teams to grow client relationships and increase wallet share. Collaborate with Product, Technology, Operations, Treasury, and Risk teams to enhance platform capabilities and client experience. Represent State Street in the marketplace, helping build the firm's profile as a leading provider of financing and securities lending solutions. Monitor market developments, regulatory changes, and industry trends to identify new business opportunities and improve trading strategies.
