The Opportunity:
As a Trader, you'll sit at the center of Nucor's raw material supply chain — buying scrap and alloys from suppliers worldwide, then brokering those raw materials to customers. You'll build a real book of business, trade commodities, and develop lasting supplier and customer relationships. After an 8-10 week paid training program, you'll be placed in one of our district offices and a brokerage based on our business needs and your strengths. What You'll Do:
Buy and sell ferrous, nonferrous metals and or ferroalloys to drive Nucor's raw material advantage (Depending on assigned brokerage) Prospect and develop new supplier and mill relationships Manage contracts, payment terms, and supply chain logistics with customers Collaborate daily with logistics teams, Nucor mill contacts, and open-market accounts Travel to supplier and customer sites (30-60% of time) Relocate to any district office at the close of training — and again as you advance Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
