Investment Specialist

SUMMARY Step into an instrumental role of researching and selecting investments for over $1 Billion of assets under management. Play a key part in the growth of a fast-paced—and friendly—financial planning office as a fully licensed Investment Specialist with extensive technical and systems management experience. This role is to help achieve the company's vision of providing an outstanding client experience and advice through the delivery of investment management and support. The Investment Specialist will have a keen understanding of asset allocation and the ability to research and understand economic trends and market conditions. They will be responsible for securities trading systems and developing recommendations for client portfolios. We welcome candidates who aspire to grow beyond the position of Investment Specialist and we have defined career tracks for Financial Planners, Financial Advisors, and Portfolio Managers.
JOB ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Trade equities, ETFs, mutual funds, individual bonds and other securities; Work with the Investment Committee and Advisors to invest cash and rebalance portfolios; Research investment options and suggest portfolio changes; Document rationale, procedures, and seek process improvement; Assist with client requests; Maintain performance reports for clients and tracking purposes; Create proposals for workplace retirement plans and other externally held accounts; Educate Advisors on portfolio changes and write client facing materials; Utilize software to manage and track portfolios, specifically Morningstar, Thomson ONE, Vestmark, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word; and/or Run new account comparison reports.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in related field Intermediate level of skill in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) FINRA Series 7 and 66 licenses Familiar with trade operations Direct attention to detail and organization Effective communication with clients and other advisors/staff Effective and efficient time management Ability to adhere to rules and regulations as stated and required by advisor, Ameriprise Financial, FINRA, and regulatory bodies Ability to support and provide guidance for compliance within the advisor's practice Positive attitude and sincere willingness to constantly learn and grow Experience in any of the following are encouraged to apply: Equity Trader Hedge Fund professional Portfolio Manager Investment Analyst Investment Advisor Trader Broker Commodity or Derivative Trader CFA candidates or aspiring CFA candidates are encouraged to apply
