Negotiable Equity Ownership + Revenue Participation + Future Salary Potential About the Opportunity A brand-new Tennessee real estate brokerage is seeking an experienced Principal Broker to join as a founding partner and Broker of Record. This is not a traditional broker position, and we are not looking for someone to simply lend their license. We are looking for a true business partner who wants to help build a brokerage from the ground up. The selected broker will have a C-suite level role within the company and will help shape the direction, culture, compliance structure, agent experience, and long-term growth of the brokerage. Position Summary The Founding Principal Broker will serve as the Tennessee Broker of Record and play a key leadership role in launching and growing the company. This person will provide brokerage oversight, ensure regulatory compliance, support operational setup, and help establish the foundation for a professional, customer-focused real estate brand. This is an early-stage startup opportunity. The selected candidate will help establish the foundation, systems, and operational framework of the brokerage. The company is brand new, and the ownership structure is negotiable for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities Serve as the Tennessee Principal Broker and Broker of Record. Maintain an active Tennessee Principal Broker license in good standing throughout affiliation with the brokerage. Ensure compliance with Tennessee Real Estate Commission rules, regulations, and brokerage requirements. Help establish brokerage policies, procedures, systems, and operating standards. Provide oversight for contracts, disclosures, transaction files, agent files, and brokerage practices. Advise company leadership on licensing, compliance, agent supervision, and brokerage operations. Help ensure the brokerage maintains all required insurance, licensing, and regulatory requirements in accordance with Tennessee law. Ensure brokerage operations, agent conduct, advertising, and client service practices comply with applicable federal, state, and local fair housing laws. Promote and uphold Equal Housing Opportunity standards throughout the brokerage. Support company policies and training related to Fair Housing, anti-discrimination, ethics, advertising compliance, and professional conduct. Help ensure agents understand and follow all applicable housing laws and regulations. Help build a strong customer service culture from day one. Support the development of agent onboarding, training, and compliance processes. Assist with recruiting agents if desired, but recruiting is not required. Mentor and support agents as the brokerage grows. Participate in strategic business planning as a founding C-suite leader. Represent the brokerage with professionalism, integrity, and strong client-first values. Continue personal real estate sales activity if desired. Qualifications Active Tennessee Principal Broker License in good standing. Strong understanding of Tennessee real estate law, contracts, compliance, brokerage supervision, and Fair Housing requirements. Prior experience as a Principal Broker, Managing Broker, Broker Owner, or senior brokerage leader preferred. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Strong leadership, judgment, and professionalism. Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to help build a company from the beginning. Ability to help create structure, systems, and standards in a startup environment. Experience mentoring, coaching, or supporting real estate agents preferred. Strong reputation for integrity, reliability, and client service. Compensation & Ownership This role offers a negotiable equity ownership opportunity for the right candidate. Equity participation is negotiable and will be based on experience, qualifications, level of involvement, and long-term contribution to the brokerage.
