The firm has a diverse institutional client base comprised of corporate and public pensions, endowments, foundations, sub-advisory, family offices, wealth managers and financial advisors, globally. We are seeking an experienced Senior Trader with 6+ years of institutional trading experience to join our Trading department and cover Asian market hours. This opportunity is open to fully remote candidates who live out-of-state, with occasional travel to Chicago required. Driehaus is not a rotational trading desk.
Primary responsibilities:
- Trades stocks and other instruments using brokers and/or relevant crossing networks.
- Monitors any incoming news, research, or reports.
- Communicates trade thoughts and news to portfolio managers and research teams.
- Produces in-house trading reports that summarize all trading activity from previous day.
- Takes reports from brokers and other execution venues.
- Works with trading operations department to resolve trade "breaks."
- Determines the overall reasonableness of transaction costs while taking into account such factors as market condition, size and timing of the order, depth of the market, per share price, difficulty of execution, financial responsibility and broker commitment.
- Monitors and evaluates the performance and execution capabilities of brokers to ensure that clients consistently receive executions of superior quality.
- Executes rebalancing trades and checks executions.
- Continually analyzes information feeds, news reports, and actual stock price changes to maintain knowledge of current market and stock conditions for equities to be traded.
- Monitors national, regional, and sector markets to identify trends and events that may impact stock evaluation, portfolio management, and equity trading outcomes.
- Initiates, maintains, and cultivates professional relationships with outside investment brokers and other resources to enhance market intelligence and identify investment and trading opportunities.
- Develops and is accountable for the accuracy and completeness of regular and special analyses requested by senior management.
- Maintains detailed knowledge of technology and systems that support trading operations (i.e. Ridgeline or other order management systems and Bloomberg EMSX.
- Strong knowledge and experience trading Asian markets.
Knowledge/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of institutional trading equity securities, including 3+ years in Asian or European markets.
- Ability to work in dynamic, high-demand trading environment during Asian market hours.
- Technical analysis experience a plus.
- Knowledge of trading operations, products and services.
- Assumes knowledge of markets, macroeconomics, statistical and economic research techniques, broker relations, and company operations and functions as they relate to trading operations.
- Strong work ethic with initiative, flexibility and resilience, eagerness to learn, and drive.
