Job Description
Commodity Trader - Dairy Dallas, Texas (Office-Based) Overview An international trading business is looking to hire a junior Commodity Trader to join its commercial team in Dallas. This is a highly commercial, fast-paced role with exposure to global dairy markets, offering the opportunity to develop into a fully-fledged trader within an experienced and collaborative team. You will initially work alongside senior traders, gaining hands-on experience across the full trading lifecycle, with a clear path to managing your own accounts and markets. Key Responsibilities Buy and sell dairy products across international markets Drive trading performance, with responsibility for volume and margin delivery Build and develop relationships with customers and suppliers globally, including regular travel Execute trading contracts efficiently, ensuring strong internal coordination and accuracy Monitor market trends and identify commercial opportunities, proactively acting on market developments Apply risk management across trades, including exposure to credit, pricing, and contract performance Collaborate closely with internal teams to optimise trading outcomes and share market intelligence Candidate Profile Bachelor's degree required; business-related degree or MBA preferred 2-5 years of experience in a commercial, trading, or sales-driven environment (dairy or agri exposure is advantageous) Strong commercial instinct with a clear sales-driven mindset Highly analytical, with the ability to interpret market data and translate insights into trading decisions Effective communicator, confident in building relationships both internally and externally Team-oriented, collaborative, and able to operate in a fast-paced trading floor environment Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong desire to learn quickly and take ownership Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond to evolving market conditions Additional Requirements Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with trading/ERP systems is beneficial Willingness to travel internationally as required Must be able to work full-time from the Dallas office (non-remote role) What This Role Offers Hands-on exposure to global dairy trading markets Structured learning and development alongside experienced traders A fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with strong team collaboration Clear progression path into a fully accountable trading role
