Tax Analyst

We are looking for a Tax Analyst to support a high-volume invoice correction process for exempt customers with a client in Birmingham, Alabama. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who understands sales tax treatment, credit activity within accounts receivable, and the handling of exemption-related invoice adjustments. The role may be performed remotely or in a hybrid arrangement and will focus on maintaining accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across daily tax-related transactions.

Responsibilities:

Manage a substantial daily workload of credit and correction invoices to remove tax charges when exempt status applies. Review customer transactions and supporting documentation to ensure invoice adjustments align with exemption rules and internal controls. Process account credits and related receivable updates with close attention to accuracy and turnaround time. Investigate tax discrepancies on invoices and take appropriate action to correct billing records. Verify exemption certificate details and apply the correct tax treatment to customer accounts. Work within the designated enterprise system to complete invoice corrections, maintain records, and support efficient transaction processing. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to resolve outstanding issues tied to tax reversals, refunds, or exemption-related billing questions. Hands-on experience in a tax, accounts receivable, or invoice adjustment role involving high-volume transaction processing. Working knowledge of sales tax concepts, including exempt customer handling and tax reversal activity. Background in processing credits, corrections, or refunds within an accounts receivable environment. Familiarity with exemption certificates and the documentation needed to support tax-exempt transactions. Experience using enterprise financial systems to manage invoice corrections and account updates. Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy while handling repetitive daily tasks. Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote or hybrid setting.
