Job Description

Pure Financial Advisors, LLC is a fee-only registered investment advisor (RIA) located in San Diego, CA. We are seeking an experienced tax professional to join the Tax Planning department in our San Diego office. This position's primary focus will be to review tax returns and prepare tax projections as part of our comprehensive financial planning process for clients. This position will also interact with our Planning Department and Financial Advisors.
Responsibilities:
  • Review and understand tax documents, related tax information, and applicable financial planning data with an ability to identify anomalies, errors, and opportunities.
  • Analyze data & provide projections of future tax outcomes based on current financial information and tax-optimized recommendations for active and prospective clients.
  • Research tax information and pending legislation and translate it to understandable, actionable information for relevant departments and clients.
  • Ensure that all workload and responses are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Follow-up with Planners and Advisors as needed to ensure that necessary data inputs are clear and complete.
  • Draft written explanations of tax information directed to clients.
  • Participate in internal tax-related meetings/training, as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred. JD, EA, CFP, CPA or similar is helpful.
  • Recent experience in the individual income tax industry
  • Basic understanding of individual income tax returns is required. Additionally, expertise in at least one additional area: pass-through entities, trusts & estates, plan administration, multi-state, or foreign reporting requirements is preferred.
  • Familiarity with retirement plan types and retirement and investment planning concepts is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Ability to think logically and strategically is required.
Salary & Benefits:
  • This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
Salary Range:
$70,000-80,000 DOE
  • Benefit package includes health (medical, dental, and vision insurance), FSA and/or HSA plans, group and voluntary life/accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, long-term disability insurance (LTD), a 401(k) plan with an enhanced employer match, including pre-tax, Roth and after-tax contributions, as well as generous holiday and paid time off policies.
Hybrid/Remote considered.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
