Job Description

The Intern, Tax Department is a temporary position responsible for service by performing research and analysis, general administrative tasks, daily clerical functions and coordinating/monitoring activities on specific projects to support the Tax Department. The assignment is approximately 90 days with flexibility to be part-time or full-time.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides support in a variety of capacities, including tax research, analysis, and file maintenance; Assist with tax planning; Review tax returns, including personal income tax returns, business tax returns, gift tax returns, etc.; Tack down and research information about investment or business operations; Assist with tax audits by collecting documentation and formulating responses; Meet deadlines for completion of tax projects as assigned; Support other departments by assisting with administrative tasks as needed; Maintain confidentiality of all corporate and personnel matters;

Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Current accounting or law student or recent graduate from an accounting program or law school Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and related software programs; Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; Exceptional organizational skills required; Demonstrated ability to meet designated deadlines; Ability to work independently with minimal instruction; Ability to interface well with all departments within the company; Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with staff, clients and visitors; Demonstrated ability to remain calm, focused, and positive while performing job duties.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The position works in a climate-controlled office and routinely use standard office equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical Requirements % of Work Time Remain in a seated position 70% Speak and hear clearly 100% Lift office products and supplies, up to 20 lbs. 20% Stoop, kneel, bend and reach 20% Dexterity to write and manipulate keyboard and mouse 100%
COMPENSATION
Estimated Starting Hourly Wage:
$25.00-26.00 Exact starting pay is determined by merit; seniority; geographic location; education, training, and/or experience related to job duties and responsibilities
FLSA Status:
Non-Exempt, Eligible for Overtime
