Unlike many tax firms that focus only on preparing returns, we work year round with our clients to help them make better tax decisions before filing season ever arrives. Our team collaborates closely with OxenFree Financial, an independent wealth management firm that shares our office, allowing clients to receive coordinated tax planning and financial planning in one convenient location. Although OxenFree Tax and OxenFree Financial are separate companies, our teams work together every day to provide a higher level of service and planning for the people we serve. Position Summary We are seeking a CPA or Enrolled Agent with approximately 4 to 6 years of experience preparing individual income tax returns. The ideal candidate enjoys building long term relationships with clients, pays close attention to detail, and wants to grow beyond tax preparation into tax planning and collaborative financial strategies. This is an opportunity to become an important part of a team that helps clients improve every aspect of their financial lives. Responsibilities Prepare and review individual federal and state income tax returns. Develop proactive tax planning strategies throughout the year. Identify opportunities to legally reduce clients' tax liability. Meet with clients to discuss tax planning and answer questions. Review prior year returns for planning opportunities and potential corrections. Stay current on tax law changes. Collaborate with financial advisors to coordinate tax and financial planning strategies. Maintain organized, accurate, and confidential client records. Help improve internal systems and tax preparation processes. Qualifications Active CPA or Enrolled Agent designation. Approximately 4 to 6 years of experience preparing individual income tax returns. Strong understanding of federal individual income taxation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to work independently while collaborating with a professional team. Experience with professional tax preparation software.
