Job Description:
Senior Tax Specialist - Insurance and Financial Services We are partnering with a well-established insurance and financial services organization seeking a Senior Tax Specialist to join its growing Finance team. This role offers the opportunity to work across corporate tax, financial reporting, audit coordination, and insurance accounting in a highly collaborative environment. The position reports directly to senior finance leadership and provides strong exposure to both GAAP and statutory reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare quarterly and annual tax provisions and disclosures for statutory and GAAP entities
  • Review Federal and state tax returns and related book-to-tax adjustments
  • Review quarterly tax estimates and coordinate timely tax payments
  • Respond to Federal and state tax notices and support external tax advisors and auditors
  • Research and document tax regulations and assess business impact
  • Prepare financial statements and analytics for a captive insurance company
  • Coordinate annual audit processes across multiple departments
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA or CPA-track preferred
  • 2-4+ years of corporate tax and/or insurance accounting experience
  • Understanding of GAAP and statutory accounting principles
  • Experience with tax provisions, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their exposure within a dynamic finance organization and gain hands-on experience across tax, reporting, and insurance operations.
