Standard Internship $ Paid Part Time Description We are looking for interns interested in state and local property taxation. As an Intern you will work side by side with subject matter experts in a team-based environment to identify tax savings opportunities. The intern chosen for this position will be active in developing support for property tax appeals for commercial and industrial properties as well as preparation of personal property returns.
Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities:
A JMTA Intern will be responsible for general ongoing client delivery support by assisting the JMTA staff with: Preparation of analysis and other deliverables Completion of technical research Appeal deadline tracking Preparation of appeal and amended returns Maintenance of work efficiency models Ongoing internal and external communications with applicable clients, state assessing officials, and JMTA individuals Maintaining assigned project status Analysis of prospective client opportunities Joint attendance at appeal hearings Monitoring legislative changes Project organization and efficiency improvements Team efforts to improve office organization AppealTrack-update & maintain appeals Qualifications college student, 3.5 GPA in accounting or finance, preference given to those students with real estate course work Learning Objectives research skills project management skills teamwork communication skills data management hearing preparation
