Job Description

Tax Senior Talnt Norman, OK Job Details Full-time $95,000 - $110,000 a year 13 hours ago Qualifications Research Full Job Description Most Tax Senior opportunities give you more returns to prepare and more work to review. This one gives you more of the client relationship to own. A growing public accounting and advisory firm is looking to add a Tax Senior Associate to its team. This is an opportunity for someone who's mastered the fundamentals and is ready to start making the transition from strong tax professional to trusted client advisor. You'll still be hands-on with complex tax work, but the role isn't built around keeping you buried in compliance. You'll work directly with clients, get involved in planning and consulting, research complex issues, help drive engagements forward, and begin developing the Associates working alongside you.
The goal is simple:
give you the technical breadth, client exposure, and leadership responsibility you need to keep progressing—not just a bigger workload with a Senior title. What you'll be doing: Prepare complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and other entities Work across the entire tax engagement, from compliance and research through planning, consulting, and special projects Get involved in tax planning before decisions are made—not simply report the outcome afterward Research complex tax issues, develop solutions, and turn technical conclusions into practical recommendations for clients Work directly with clients throughout the year to answer questions, resolve issues, and understand what's happening within their businesses Take greater ownership of engagements, including workflow, deadlines, deliverables, and client expectations Work alongside Managers and Partners on complex client situations and planning opportunities Review work and provide technical guidance to Associates and developing staff Begin building the leadership and delegation skills expected at the Manager level Develop experience across multiple entity types and client situations rather than being pushed into a narrow tax specialty Continue building technical expertise while gaining the client-facing experience that becomes increasingly important as you progress What you'll bring: 3+ years of public accounting tax experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field Experience preparing tax returns across individuals and multiple business entity types Strong understanding of tax accounting principles and IRS regulations Experience with—or a genuine interest in—tax planning, research, and consulting work beyond compliance Ability to research technical issues and communicate your conclusions clearly Confidence interacting directly with clients and taking increasing ownership of those relationships Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines while maintaining high-quality work Experience reviewing, mentoring, or training junior professionals is a plus CPA, EA, or progress toward professional certification preferred Authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship Why this one is worth a conversation: Making Senior shouldn't just mean getting handed more work. It should be the point where you start getting closer to the client, developing your own judgment, learning how to lead an engagement, and being brought into conversations that used to happen above you. That's what this opportunity is designed to offer. If you're already thinking beyond the next busy season and want a role that starts preparing you for what comes after Senior, I'd be happy to share more confidentially.
