Responsible for supporting the administration of school district tax collection processes, including maintaining taxpayer records, processing payments, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, and assisting taxpayers with inquiries. The position ensures compliance with applicable Pennsylvania tax regulations, district policies, and established accounting procedures while providing accurate financial recordkeeping and customer service.Essential Functions:
Process and record real estate, interim, and other applicable school taxes in accordance with district procedures and Pennsylvania regulations. Maintain accurate taxpayer records, billing information, and account histories. Assist in the preparation and distribution of tax bills, notices, receipts, tax certifications, and other related correspondence. Monitor tax payment activity and update records accordingly. Reconcile tax collections with bank deposits and financial system records. Prepare daily, monthly, and annual tax collection reports as assigned. Assist with preparation of documentation required for audits and financial reporting. Maintain accurate files for tax-related financial records. Respond to taxpayer inquiries regarding tax bills, payment options, due dates, penalties, and account balances. Assist taxpayers with payment processing and documentation requests. Communicate with tax collectors, municipalities, county offices, and other agencies as needed. Ensure compliance with district policies, Pennsylvania tax collection procedures, and applicable reporting requirements. Maintain confidential financial and taxpayer information in accordance with district policies and applicable regulations. Assist with maintaining procedures and documentation related to tax collection processes. Prepare correspondence, spreadsheets, and departmental reports. Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems. Serve as additional support and back-up for the front desk as needed. Business and operations departments ad-hoc projects as assigned in the non-tax months (March-June) supporting organizational priorities. Performs other duties as assigned. Performs in accordance with school policy, administrative regulations, state and federal laws.Qualifications:
