Senior Tax Associate

Half-day Fridays in the summer. A say in what your busy season actually looks like. And review level work that gives partners back their time rather than adding another layer of prep to your plate. This Senior Tax Associate role sits in a 25-person CPA firm where the work is broad, practical, and closely tied to the businesses behind the numbers. You'd be reviewing 1040s, business returns, trusts and estates, alongside supporting year-end adjustments and helping clients understand what their books are actually telling them. It suits someone who enjoys being a generalist and seeing the full picture rather than specialising too early. A large part of the client base is small businesses, including agriculture and rural community clients, so the work stays varied and relationship-driven. You're not expected to stay in one lane. If someone is out, the team steps in. If a partner needs support, you step closer to review responsibility. Flexibility here is built into how the firm runs. Outside of tax season, the schedule returns to 40 hours, with summer half-day Fridays bringing that closer to 36. Remote or hybrid both work, and they already have team members working remotely across different states. What matters more is being someone who stays connected with the team and speaks up when needed rather than working in isolation. Longer term, there is also a genuine partner path available, with retirement already on the horizon and partners actively looking to pass work down to the next generation of reviewers. They're looking for someone with public accounting experience reviewing returns, comfortable working across individuals, entities, and trusts, and confident supporting bookkeeping adjustments where needed. $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
