It starts looking like the final chapter of a much longer story. This Senior Tax Associate opportunity is with a growing Atlanta CPA firm providing tax, accounting and advisory services to businesses and individuals across the United States, including clients with more complex international requirements. You'll work across individual and business tax compliance while becoming increasingly involved in planning, research and advisory work. It's a good opportunity for someone who wants to become a stronger tax advisor rather than simply becoming faster at preparing returns.

$90,000-$110,000 salary Hybrid working Atlanta location Broad federal and state tax exposure Individual and business taxation Partnership and pass-through entity experience Tax planning opportunities Multistate and nexus exposure International tax exposure Direct client contact Variety of industries Close access to Managers and senior tax professionals Opportunity to mentor junior staff Clear progression toward Tax Manager What you'll be doing: Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns Work across individual, partnership, S Corporation and C Corporation returns Prepare more complex individual tax filings Assist with tax projections and year-end planning Research federal and state tax issues Assist clients with IRS and state tax notices Support Managers on more complex tax planning assignments Gain exposure to multistate and nexus matters Assist with international and cross-border tax engagements Work with clients across industries including real estate, healthcare, construction, professional services, technology and other privately owned businesses Communicate directly with clients to gather information and resolve tax issues Review selected work prepared by junior team members Help train and develop Tax Associates Identify issues within compliance work that may create planning opportunities Build toward managing engagements and client relationships independently What they're looking for: 4+ years of tax experience within public accounting Strong individual and business tax preparation experience Experience with Forms 1040, 1065, 1120 and 1120-S Strong understanding of federal income taxation State income tax experience Partnership and pass-through entity experience Tax planning exposure Comfortable dealing directly with clients Strong tax research skills CPA or EA designation, or actively pursuing either credential, preferred International or multistate tax exposure would be an asset Experience reviewing junior staff work would be beneficial Previous CPA firm/public accounting experience required If you'd like to know more about this position, just hit the apply button and I'll be in touch.
