Nothing wrong with that. But if you actually like knowing the people you work with, this firm probably makes a lot more sense. Lunch paid for once a week. Happy hours. Taco Tuesdays. Not revolutionary employee benefits, admittedly. But they're a pretty good sign that people here actually spend time together because they want to, rather than because somebody in HR has put "team bonding" in the calendar. It's a growing boutique firm with a Managing Partner who's very hands on and has built a strong reputation locally. You'll work closely with them, get proper mentorship and, importantly, you won't be sitting around wondering what you need to do to reach the next level. There's a genuine route from Senior to Manager and, longer term, Partner if that's where you want to take your career. The work is interesting too. You'll primarily support HNW individuals and their associated businesses, starting with complex preparation and review work, while gradually taking on more responsibility and mentoring junior staff. There's also exposure to areas you don't always get in a traditional tax role, including litigation support and financial planning. So you're not spending the next five years becoming incredibly good at one very specific return. The flexibility is prettysensible too. You can work from home Mondays and Fridays, with Tuesday to Thursday in the office. Outside busy season they operate core hours of 9am to 3pm, meaning you've got some freedom around when you start and finish. Come in early. Beat the traffic. Leave earlier. Busy season is typically around 55 hours, with roughly two to three weeks closer to 60. So I'm not going to pretend this is a 40 hour busy season firm. But they're transparent about it, which I'd take over discovering the real hours in February. You'll also get unlimited PTO, a firm wide December shutdown, healthcare, dental, vision and a discretionary bonus. If you're looking for a firm where you can get closer to clients, closer to leadership and actually see what the next few years of your career could look like, this could be a really good move. And you don't need to have your resignation letter drafted before getting in touch. Call me on 512 647 2214. I'll tell you what the firm is actually like, where the progression could go and whether it makes sense for you. No pressure.
