KONE Americas is looking for a Tax Analyst to support U.S. tax compliance, accounting, and audit activities across both Indirect Tax (Sales & Use, Property Tax) and Direct Tax (Corporate Income Tax) . This is a hands-on, high-learning role where you will contribute to end-to-end tax processes—working closely with Tax Managers, Finance, IT, and external advisors to deliver accurate, timely, and well-controlled tax outcomes in a Vertex and SAP environment. You may be a strong fit if you: Take ownership of your work and follow through to completion Enjoy working with numbers, systems, and detailed data Are curious and motivated to understand the "why" behind tax and accounting processes Are comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Like solving problems and improving how work gets done Want to grow into broader tax responsibilities over time Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across teams What you will do Indirect Tax (Primary Focus), you will: Prepare and support filing of U.S. state and local sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions Maintain and validate exemption certificates , ensuring accurate and timely updates in Vertex Support sales and use tax audits , including data gathering, documentation, and audit tracking Assist in maintaining taxability logic across products, services, and transactions Analyze tax data from Vertex and SAP , ensuring completeness and accuracy Manage the KONE Tax Mailbox , ensuring timely and accurate responses to internal inquiries Prepare clear and concise guidance on tax-related topics for internal stakeholders Assist in maintaining tax matrices for sales and purchases across the business Direct Tax (Supporting Role) Support preparation of income tax filings , including federal, state, and local returns Prepare and process tax payments , including extensions and estimated payments, while maintaining tax calendar tracking Organize and prepare data for external advisors and internal stakeholders Assist in responding to tax notices and inquiries Maintain records and tracking of all income tax filings and related documentation Tax Accounting & Reconciliation Prepare and support reconciliation of tax-related balance sheet accounts (sales tax payable, use tax accruals, income tax accounts, etc.) Assist with month-end close activities , including journal entries and account analysis Reconcile Vertex vs SAP outputs and flag discrepancies for review Maintain supporting schedules, workpapers, and audit-ready documentation Support tax provision and reporting processes Systems, Controls & Process Support Work with Vertex and SAP to extract, validate, and analyze tax data Support system testing, data validation, and process improvements Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation and records Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and controls in tax processes What makes this role unique Exposure to both Indirect and Direct Tax in a complex, multi-state business Opportunity to work in a technology-enabled tax environment (Vertex, SAP) Hands-on experience across tax compliance, accounting, and systems integration High visibility and collaboration across Finance, Operations, and IT Strong foundation for growth into Sr. Analyst or Tax Manager roles What we're looking for 3-5 years of experience in tax, accounting, or related roles Experience with sales and use tax compliance preferred Exposure to income tax or tax accounting is a plus Experience with Vertex (or similar tax engine) and ERP systems (SAP preferred) Strong Excel skills; exposure to data tools (e.g., Alteryx) is a plus Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Tax ; CPA (or pursuing) is a plus Key capabilities for success Strong attention to detail and analytical skills Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and reconciliations Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines Comfortable working with large datasets and system-driven processes Ability to identify issues and clearly communicate findings High level of ownership, accountability, and willingness to learn Location & Work Model Eligible locations include Lisle, IL; Moline, IL; and Allen, TX , with a hybrid work model. The compensation package offered will depend on candidate's ability to meet the requirements of the role, needs for the business strategy, and a range of factors unique to each candidate, including their skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location. We will also consider candidates in the following areas. Below are the different ranges applicable to those locations: Moline, IL area hiring range: $83,000
- 109,000. Allen, TX area hiring range: $87,300
