ONSITE POSITION
Job Summary:
The Collector is responsible for initiating the appropriate action to collect past due balances and record accurate notes on delinquent accounts. This includes high volume phone calls and/or correspondence to assigned delinquent customers in a fast-paced, goal-oriented collections department. The collector will work closely with other collectors and lead collectors in completing claims billing and follow-up collection activities. Job Duties
  • The duties of this position include but are not limited to the following: Respond to inquiries in a timely and effective manner and treat customers fairly and consistently Working knowledge of the FDCPA, State Collection Laws, HIPAA and how they fit within the revenue management cycle Review and update accounts that have been referred for repossession and legal actions against debtors.
Update customer information such as phone numbers, e-mail, and address Negotiates account settlements within established guidelines Answer telephone calls regarding account inquiries and payment collection Skills Strong listening skills must be able to listen and take directions Strong negotiation skills Basic computer knowledge
  • excel and word Ability to work well in a team setting Qualifications Satisfactory preliminary criminal history background check determination and a satisfactory drug screening.
The ability to perform this job successfully and perform each duty essentially. Previous experience in third party collections and/or related industry preferred but not required. Education and/or Experience The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED. This role requires a 1 year minimum collection experience.
