We are a local growing private medical practice specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with diseases of the retina and vitreous. We are looking for individuals who would like to establish a career in healthcare working for a company with nationally recognized physicians. We provide on the job training giving you the ability to grow and advance your skills along with gaining innovative knowledge. Established in 1977, we have locations all over Northern California including Sacramento, Grass Valley, Roseville, Stockton, Modesto, Fairfield, Elk Grove, Folsom, Yuba City and Chico. Our physicians are nationally known, and we continue to be on the leading edge of retina care by utilizing the latest equipment and both participating in and designing new clinical trials to advance the state of care for retinal diseases. Join 240+ other team members working for our nationally recognized retina specialty practice. We are seeking a full-time Business Office Assistant to join our team. In-office position must be local to the Sacramento Area.
Responsibilities:
Process and distribute incoming mail to appropriate departments. Run outgoing mail through postage machine and mail daily. Scan all EOBs, Patient and insurance correspondence. Stuff and mail statements, checks or other documents as needed. Coordinate mailing of refund checks with the cash posting department. Assemble paper claims generated by charge coding department; including attachments if needed, and mail daily. Run Assistant Surgeon patient statements monthly. Process Virtual Credit Card payments for Assistant Surgeon Payments and Patient Credit Card payments via information returned with a statement stub. Inventory toners for Caltronics printers. Order office supplies for the Business Office. Reply to Referring Physicians for Patient Packets and mail in a timely manner. Scan Payment Batches, including Deposit Slips to remote Payment Posting Staff. Retrieve Explanation of Benefits from various websites. Prepare shipments for Fed Ex and USPS. Assist with physician credentialing/recredentialing as needed Assist with provider directory verification as needed. Must possess a valid California Driver's License, proof of current auto insurance, and reliable transportation. Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and sit for extended periods while driving to and from errand locations as needed. Ability to handle patient payments via check, credit card, and debit card. Ability to operate office equipment, such as the postage machine, copier, fax, scanner, phones. Good verbal communication skills. Ability to multitask. Ability to use NextGen. Ability to prioritize work. Basic knowledge of how insurance works and understanding an Explanation of Benefits. Basic computer skills. Knowledge of preparing Excel spreadsheets. Basic customer service. Knowledge of how to send via FedEx. Knowledge of 10-key. Know how to navigate related websites. Self-directed. Flexible and adapt to change. Work as a team and cover duties/position if needed. Detail oriented.
Physical Requirements:
Sitting and viewing computer screen for extended periods, up to 85% of the time. Keyboarding, up to 90% of the time. Standing, up to 25% of the time. Close visual acuity required to perform duties such as viewing computer monitor, and determining accuracy and thoroughness of work. Work full-time, be on-time, and not have excessive absenteeism.
