Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Collection Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounts receivable and ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of financial concepts, and the ability to negotiate effectively with clients. The Collection Agent will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our organization by managing collections efficiently and professionally. Duties Contact consumers via phone Negotiate payment arrangements and settlements while maintaining a professional demeanor. Utilize financial software to track accounts, document interactions, and update account statuses. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns regarding their accounts. Maintain accurate records of all communications and transactions related to collections. Understand and apply financial concepts related to debits, credits, and revenue cycle management. Collaborate with team members to improve collection processes and strategies. Stay informed about industry best practices in medical collections . Qualifications Proven experience in customer service or sales roles is preferred. Familiarity with financial software and revenue cycle management is a plus. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to handle difficult conversations effectively. Knowledge of medical collection processes is advantageous but not required. Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills are essential for this role. Basic math skills to accurately assess account balances and payment arrangements. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are necessary for managing multiple accounts.
