Job Description
Overview The City of Shamokin Tax Office is currently accepting applications to fill a part-time position (25 hours per week). The Tax Office Assistant will be responsible for accepting county, local, and school tax payments; assisting the public in person and over the telephone; and general clerical duties. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, cash-handling experience, professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a busy office environment. Knowledge of general computer skills, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word is a must. Applicant must be able to be bonded and pass a background check. Prospective candidates must complete a City of Shamokin employment application. Applications may be picked up at Shamokin City Hall, 47 E. Lincoln St., Shamokin, during business hours (8AM-4PM Mon-Fri). Completed applications must be returned, together with a resume, to Shamokin City Hall to the attention of Robert M.
