The Utah State Tax Commission's Customer Services Division is looking for a skilled and motivated individual to fill its Tax Compliance Agent position. This person will play an integral role in Division's mission to answer taxpayer inquires. You must be current on your state and federal tax filings and pass a FBI level background check. This job may be filled at any of the advertised levels. Job Duties The Tax Compliance Agent will need to have: Experience negotiating with customers Prior experience in collections, including taking legal action Basic understanding of Utah tax laws Skills in dealing with customers in an adverse environment Prior experience working with customers over the phone Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Be able to do your part in a team environment Research information to find answer to questions Data entry skills Job Series This position may be filled at any level within the job series. 94. Salary Employees are hired for this position only at entry level (Tax Compliance Agent II), $23.73 an hour. We are unable to negotiate hourly wage amounts. DHRM rules apply for promotions/transfers for current state employees. Qualifications Minimum or "day-one" qualifications: Has exceptional customer service skills Is very detail oriented Has experience with GenTax/Collections Preferred or trainable/on-the-job qualifications: Preferences may be given for experience with tax laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
