Key Responsibilities Job Description If you would like an opportunity to increase your knowledge of Utah tax law, serve the public and work in a fast paced setting with a team of talented and dedicated individuals, this job is for you. The Utah State Tax Commission's Taxpayer Services Division is looking for a skilled and motivated individual to fill its Tax Compliance Agent position. This person will play an integral role in Division's mission to answer taxpayer inquires. You must be current on your state and federal tax filings and pass a criminal background check. This position may be filled at any of the advertised levels listed below. Salary depends on the job level offered within the series.
Day-to-day responsibilities of this position:
Experience negotiating with customers Prior experience in collections, including taking legal action Basic understanding of Utah tax laws Skills in dealing with customers in an adverse environment Prior experience working with customers over the phone Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Be able to do your part in a team environment Research information to find answer to questions Data entry skills Job Series This position may be filled at any advertised level within the job series.   • $33.96 Qualifications Minimum or "day-one" qualifications: Has exceptional customer service skills Is very detail oriented Has experience with GenTax/Collections Preferred or trainable/on-the-job qualifications: Preference may be given for experience with tax laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
