Applicants must be able to successfully pass a background check, including credit check and drug screen Municipal Services Specialist (Part-time, Permanent) The City of Washington Terrace, located in Weber County, is seeking a customer-focused, detail-oriented Utility Services Specialist. This position works under the direction of the City Treasurer and is responsible for utility billing and processing, customer service duties, cash receipting, account maintenance, and a variety of administrative duties. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, self-motivated, and enjoys working with the public in a fast-paced office environment.OPPORTUNITIES & CHALLENGES
The Municipal Services Specialist will work with a highly motivated and outgoing team who value teamwork, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to excellence. This position offers work variety in utility and non-utility projects and assignments with inter-departmental coordination and cooperation.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties to be performed.)- Provide exceptional customer service in person, by phone, and by email.
- Process utility payments, applications, deposits, refunds, and account changes.
- Maintain accurate customer records and billing information
- Generate monthly utility bills, ensure timely upload of readings from data collection devices and systems, monitor delinquencies and collections from customers, and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Assist customers with questions and direct them to appropriate departments.
- Assist with business licensing, City newsletters, and other administrative projects.
- Maintain strong professional and courteous working relationships and collaboration with employees, city officials, and the public.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
