Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tax Manager to join our dynamic financial team. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of tax planning, compliance, and reporting for a diverse client portfolio. The successful candidate will leverage extensive expertise in corporate and individual taxation, tax law, and regulatory requirements to ensure adherence to applicable standards while identifying strategic opportunities for tax optimization. The Tax Manager will also collaborate closely with internal teams and clients to deliver comprehensive tax solutions that support organizational growth and compliance objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the preparation and review of complex tax returns for corporations, individuals, trusts, and non-profit entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies, including estate planning, mergers & acquisitions, and asset management initiatives Oversee tax compliance processes related to regulatory reporting, GAAP standards, SOX controls, and other statutory requirements Manage audits conducted by tax authorities by preparing documentation and representing the organization professionally Stay current on evolving tax laws such as securities law, tax reporting regulations, and international standards affecting clients' portfolios Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial analysis, budgeting, financial statement interpretation, and regulatory compliance accounting Utilize various accounting software tools including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and specialized tax software for accurate data entry and reporting Provide guidance on technical accounting issues such as double entry bookkeeping, balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis Advise clients on estate planning strategies involving wills, trusts & estate law to optimize their financial positions Support business development efforts by contributing to financial sales initiatives through expert consultation on tax-related matters Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification preferred Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in public accounting or corporate tax departments Demonstrated expertise in corporate accounting principles including GAAP standards and regulatory compliance accounting Strong background in individual tax preparation as well as complex corporate tax issues such as mergers & acquisitions Extensive knowledge of tax law including estate planning, securities law, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), and other specialized areas Proven ability to interpret financial reports and perform detailed analysis using financial concepts and analysis skills Experience with financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis Familiarity with auditing processes and SOX controls to ensure compliance across all financial activities Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly and professionally Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on accuracy in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and regulatory reporting If you possess a comprehensive understanding of tax regulations combined with a passion for delivering precise financial solutions within a collaborative environment, we encourage you to apply.
