This position is responsible for managing tax engagements, providing tax planning and consulting services, supervising staff, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients. The ideal candidate holds an active CPA license and possesses strong technical tax expertise, proven leadership experience, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service. Responsibilities Review and manage federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and estates. Provide proactive tax planning and consulting services to clients. Research and analyze complex tax issues and communicate recommendations to clients and firm leadership. Manage multiple client engagements while ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met. Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients. Review tax workpapers and filings for accuracy and completeness. Assist clients with tax notices, audits, and compliance matters. Supervise, mentor, and develop tax staff and senior accountants. Stay current on federal, state, and local tax law changes. Identify opportunities to improve client tax positions and strengthen client relationships. Participate in business development and client retention efforts.
Qualifications Required:
Active CPA license. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of public accounting tax experience. Strong knowledge of individual, business, trust, and estate taxation. Experience reviewing complex tax returns. Excellent communication and client relationship management skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficiency with tax preparation and research software.
Preferred:
Degree in Taxation and/or Accounting. Experience with multi-state taxation. Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses. Previous supervisory or management experience.
