Tax Manager -
Partner Track Location:
Middletown, CT We're partnered with an independent Connecticut CPA firm providing audit and tax services to not-for-profit, small business, individual, and trust/estate clients. The Tax Manager is actively involved in both the preparation and review of 1120S, 1065, and 1041 returns, along with complex 1040s, and manages a portfolio of client relationships.
What You'll Do:
Prepare and review 1120S, 1065, and 1041 returns, as well as complex individual (1040) returns Manage a portfolio of client relationships as the primary point of contact Plan and oversee tax engagements from kickoff through filing, including the September 15 and October 15 deadlines Supervise, train, and develop staff-level accountants Research tax issues and advise clients on planning strategies Use UltraTax to manage the return preparation and review process
What You'll Need:
Active CPA license Public accounting tax experience with hands-on preparation and review responsibility, including S-corp, partnership, and trust/estate returns Experience with UltraTax or comparable tax preparation software Willingness to work an extended schedule during tax season, Monday through Saturday What's in it for you:
Partner Track:
This is a partner-track role reporting directly to a partner who plans to retire within the next five years.
Busy Season:
Begins in late January. Managers work approximately 55 hours per week, Monday through Saturday, with Saturday capped at five hours.
Client Mix:
Caseload spans not-for-profit, small business, individual, and trust/estate work.
Compensation:
$140,000 - $160,000 depending on experience/qualifications
