About the Role As a Tax Manager, you'll lead a high-performing team in delivering strategic tax planning, compliance, and consulting services to our clients. This role goes beyond technical execution—you'll shape the future of our tax practice by driving growth, deepening client relationships, and serving as a trusted advisor to business owners and executive teams. You'll collaborate with firm leadership to expand our market presence, enhance service offerings, and mentor rising talent. What You'll Do Strategic Oversight & Advisory Lead complex tax planning and projections for closely held businesses and their owners. Oversee review of federal, state, and local tax filings across entity types. Provide high-level consulting on emerging tax issues, regulatory changes, and strategic transactions. Guide clients through audit defense, risk mitigation, and long-term tax strategy. Business Development & Growth Expand client relationships through proactive advisory, industry engagement, and thought leadership. Partner with firm leadership on go-to-market strategies, service innovation, and growth initiatives. Represent the firm in industry associations, client pitches, and strategic partnerships. Team Leadership & Operational Excellence Manage and mentor tax managers and staff, fostering technical development and leadership growth. Drive process improvement across planning, compliance, and client service delivery. Ensure quality control, timeliness, and alignment with firm standards and client expectations. About You Bachelor's degree in Accounting; advanced credentials or Master's preferred. Licensed CPA in good standing or actively working towards passing the CPA exam is preferred. 8+ years of progressive public accounting experience, with 3-5+ years in a leadership role. Deep expertise in tax planning, compliance, research, and audit defense. Proven success in client advisory, business development, and team leadership. Industry experience in real estate, construction, or manufacturing is a plus. Strong communication, relationship-building, and strategic thinking skills. Ability to lead with empathy, ask tough questions, and deliver high-impact solutions.
