AWS Claire's, LLC is registered as a Foreign Limited Liability Company (LLC) and has subsidiaries in the United States (Claire's Essentials, LLC), Canada (Claire's Essentials Canada Corp.) and Puerto Rico (Claire's Essentials PR, LLC), which collectively operate approximately 900 North American retail stores under the Claire's name. The Senior Manager, Tax is responsible for managing the operations of the Tax Department. Core areas of responsibility include managing all tax compliance matters, liaising with external consultants where applicable, supporting special projects (e.g., corporate transactions, organizational support and relationship management), and coaching/mentoring direct report(s). Key Responsibilities Coordinate with external consultants on preparation of US, Canada, and Puerto Rico income tax returns and review for accuracy and reasonableness. Prepare (or review as prepared by external consultants) tax provision calculations, track current/deferred income tax assets and liabilities, and prepare tax-related financial statement disclosures. Prepare quarterly estimated tax payments and tax return extension calculations/filings as needed. Coordinate with external consultants on preparation of sales, use and personal property tax returns and perform high-level review for accuracy and reasonableness. Provide additional support as necessary for Indirect Taxes, including property and sales tax audits. Coordinate with external consultants and Store Operations to ensure sales tax rates are accurately configured for new stores. Coordinate with external consultants and Store Operations to conduct monthly sales tax rate reviews and ensure sales tax rate updates, as applicable, are updated in the stores' Point-of-Sale ("POS") system on a timely basis. Coordinate with external consultants on annual sales tax holiday research and ensure tax holiday information is communicated to Store Operations and accurately updated in the stores' POS system on a timely basis. Coordinate with external consultants on preparation and issuance of Form 1099s to report payments made to non-employees on an annual basis. Prepare annual cost-sharing calculations between US, Canada and Puerto Rico operating entities. Coordinate with external consultants to update transfer pricing policy annually or as needed. Serve as primary point of contact to external consultants and provide support as needed to complete annual financial statement audit of Claire's Essentials PR, LLC. Support tax planning and strategy development, as well as key tax initiatives on an ad-hoc basis. Maintain general working knowledge of all software systems utilized by the Tax department Serve as subject matter expert ("SME") on all tax-related matters. Interface regularly with accounting and finance, external auditors, legal counsel, external consultants, and senior management on all tax-related matters. Oversee compliance with all corporate and business license registrations Supervise, mentor and develop direct report and other members of the accounting and finance team. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting Minimum of 6-8 years of experience (2-5 years public accounting, 3-5 years recent corporate tax preferred) Experience with limited liability company or similar flow-through tax structure strongly preferred Experience with entities having operations in Canada and Puerto Rico a plus Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications Experience with Oracle Fusion and Hyperion Essbase a plus Strong verbal and written communication skills Robust analytical, problem-solving skills and intellectual curiosity Attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism Claire's is committed to adhering to all applicable company policies and federal, state, and local laws and regulations. The final compensation will be determined by various factors such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
