Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join a public accounting team in Massachusetts. This position offers the opportunity to oversee a diverse portfolio of tax engagements while guiding accounting staff and supporting client needs across tax and bookkeeping functions. The role is ideal for someone who can balance technical tax expertise, client communication, and team leadership in a hands-on environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage the preparation and final review of tax filings for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
  • Direct tax engagements from initial planning through delivery, ensuring deadlines, accuracy, and compliance standards are consistently met.
  • Supervise day-to-day bookkeeping and general accounting activities, with regular use of QuickBooks platforms.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients by addressing questions and providing guidance on tax and accounting matters.
  • Support clients with tax planning strategies, technical research, and other advisory services as needed.
  • Organize and maintain complete workpapers, supporting documents, and client records in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide leadership and oversight to accounting team members, including assigning work and reviewing output for quality.
