Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager / Tax Director to lead complex tax engagements and provide strategic tax planning and advisory services for a diverse client base, including ultra-high-net-worth individuals, corporations, partnerships, S corporations, and other pass-through entities . This leadership role is responsible for managing tax compliance, supervising engagement teams, mentoring staff, and developing long-term client relationships while contributing to the firm's continued growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong public accounting background, exceptional technical tax expertise, and proven leadership experience. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for corporations, partnerships, S corporations, pass-through entities, and individuals. Provide proactive year-end tax planning and strategic tax advisory services to clients. Research and analyze federal, state, and local tax laws to develop effective tax strategies. Assist clients with mergers, acquisitions, entity structuring, and other tax planning initiatives. Prepare responses to tax notices and communicate with federal, state, and local tax authorities. Assist audit teams with tax provision schedules and related tax reporting requirements. Manage multiple tax engagements, project workflows, budgets, and client billing. Build and maintain strong client relationships while delivering exceptional client service. Mentor, coach, and develop tax professionals through performance management, training, and career guidance. Lead internal technical training sessions and educational seminars for staff. Collaborate with firm leadership to support business development and practice growth initiatives. Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting. Active CPA license required. Public accounting experience with progressive tax responsibilities. Strong experience preparing and reviewing individual, corporate, partnership, S corporation, and pass-through entity tax returns. Experience advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses. Thorough understanding of accounting for income taxes and multi-state taxation. Excellent tax research, technical writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proven leadership, project management, and client relationship management experience. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead teams and manage multiple engagements.
