Job Description

Position Summary The Tax Manager provides technical tax expertise, leadership, and client service support within a public accounting environment. This role is responsible for reviewing and preparing complex tax returns, identifying tax planning opportunities, conducting tax research, and mentoring staff. The Tax Manager serves as a trusted advisor to both clients and team members while helping ensure the delivery of high-quality tax and advisory services. Job Responsibilities Review and prepare individual, business, fiduciary, and nonprofit tax returns. Research complex tax issues and provide technical guidance to clients and staff. Identify tax planning strategies and opportunities to minimize client tax liabilities. Communicate tax implications, recommendations, and planning opportunities in a clear and practical manner. Serve as a technical resource for tax compliance and advisory matters. Mentor, coach, and develop tax staff through training and review feedback. Collaborate with firm leadership and team members to resolve client issues and improve service delivery. Maintain knowledge of current tax laws, regulations, and industry best practices. Support client relationships through responsive service and technical expertise. Participate in select attest and assurance engagements based on experience and firm needs. Contribute to a collaborative team environment focused on quality, efficiency, and client success. Job Requirements CPA or EA designation required. Public accounting tax experience with progressively increasing responsibility. Strong knowledge of individual, business, fiduciary, and nonprofit taxation. Advanced tax research and technical problem-solving skills. Ability to identify tax planning opportunities and communicate recommendations effectively. Experience reviewing complex tax returns and workpapers. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to mentor, train, and develop staff. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. #ZelleG
