Job Description
Manager, Tax & Accounting JWM Tax & Accounting, LLC — an affiliate of JWM Wealth Management Dayton, OH • In-Office • Reports to the Managing Partners The Opportunity JWM Tax & Accounting is a newly launched tax and accounting affiliate of JWM Wealth Management. We are hiring our founding Manager, Tax & Accounting — a CPA who will build and run the practice from the ground up: preparing and reviewing returns, standing up the firm's operations and technology, and delivering a white-glove experience to an affluent client base. This is a rare chance to shape a practice rather than inherit one, with a defined career path to greater scope, a more senior title, and a share of the profits you help create. Position Summary In year one you are the practice. The role combines hands-on technical work with building and operating the business, and you will work alongside JWM Wealth Advisors to deliver integrated tax and wealth planning to shared clients. You report directly to the firm's owners, Matt Jessup and Mark McEvily. Key Responsibilities Tax & Technical Prepare, review, and sign individual and business returns across the complexity range — 1040s with investments, K-1s, multi-state and rental, business owners (S-corp / partnership / LLC), and high-net-worth and trust returns. Provide proactive, year-round tax planning coordinated with each client's wealth advisor. Practice Build & Operations Execute the firm's IRS setup (EFIN / e-file) and select, configure, and manage tax software, the client portal, billing, and workflow. Develop engagement letters, the pricing application, the intake/organizer, and the deadline calendar. Own the firm's written information security plan and data-handling practices. Client Relationships Serve as the face of the practice to affluent households and coordinate with each client's dedicated JWM Wealth Advisor. Manage client acceptance, engagement scope, and a premium, responsive service experience. Compliance & Risk Maintain an active CPA permit and CPE; adhere to Circular 230 and the firm's tax-and-accounting (no-attest) scope. Build the case for seasonal or additional staffing as volume grows — a decision made jointly with the partners. Growth & Compensation Base salary range of $75,000-$100,000, commensurate with experience. 10% profit-share bonus on the entity's annual net profit in profitable years — you share directly in the upside you build.
