Job Description

Senior Tax ManagerPosition OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Tax Manager to lead tax compliance, planning, and consulting for a diverse portfolio of clients. The role focuses on delivering highquality tax services, mentoring staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic tax advice that supports client business objectives. The Senior Tax Manager will collaborate with internal teams, manage relationships with clients and tax authorities, and drive continuous improvement in tax processes.

Key ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee tax compliance and planning for corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and highnetworth individual clients, ensuring timely and accurate filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.

Review, prepare, and sign complex tax returns, workpapers, and supporting schedules; ensure accuracy and adherence to professional standards.

Manage, mentor, and develop a team of tax professionals: assign work, review deliverables, conduct performance reviews, and provide coaching to build technical and client service skills.

Conduct technical tax research on complex federal and state issues, interpret tax law, and develop defensible positions and strategies for clients.

Coordinate with audit, accounting, and advisory teams to integrate tax planning into broader client engagements and financial reporting (including tax provision work).Serve as primary client contact for tax matters: present findings, explain tax positions, advise on tax-saving opportunities, and respond to inquiries from tax authorities and external advisors.

Ensure compliance with professional and firm standards (including CPA requirements), maintain quality control, and implement process improvements and automation to increase efficiency.

Assist with business development activities by identifying opportunities for cross-selling services, preparing proposals, and participating in client presentations and meetings.

Manage complex projects and workflow to meet deadlines, budget targets, and client expectations while maintaining high standards of client service.

Stay current with tax law changes, industry trends, and emerging issues; provide training and updates to the tax team and clients as needed.

QualificationsBachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; graduate degree (MST/LLM) preferred.

Active CPA license required and standing in good professional order.5+ years of progressive tax experience, including time in public accounting or equivalent advisory roles.

Demonstrated managerial experience supervising and developing tax staff and managing client engagements.

Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, with strong technical research and writing skills.

Experience with common tax compliance and research software; proficiency in Excel and tax provision tools.

Excellent client-facing communication skills, strong judgment, and ability to present complex tax matters clearly to clients and leadership.

Strong project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
