This role is focused primarily on tax and business consulting services for small to medium-sized businesses, with responsibility for both technical tax review and direct client advisory work. The right candidate brings public accounting experience, supervisory background, and the technical depth to manage a varied client base across federal, state, local, and franchise tax matters. Schedule Full-time, HYBRID in Erie, PA. Compensation $70,000 to $120,000 base salary, plus performance bonus. What You'll Do As Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager, you will serve as the primary point of review and oversight for a team of 2 to 5 tax staff. Your day-to-day work will involve managing, directing, and reviewing work product across federal, state, local, and franchise tax engagements. You will be responsible for ensuring technical accuracy and quality across all work before it reaches clients, and you will provide guidance and on-the-job development to the staff members assigned to your group. A significant portion of this role involves direct client-facing work. You will serve as a trusted advisor to small and medium-sized business clients, providing tax planning, compliance, and business consulting services tailored to each client's industry and situation. Client experience will be varied across industries and entity types, and you will be expected to manage relationships, communicate findings clearly, and identify opportunities to expand the scope of services where appropriate. This position is structured with a partnership track in mind. The firm is growing across multiple offices in Northern Pennsylvania and is investing in managers who have the technical foundation and client relationship skills to step into a principal role over time. Required Qualifications Active CPA license (Pennsylvania licensure required or eligibility to obtain) Experience in public accounting at the Manager or Senior Manager level Demonstrated experience supervising tax staff, including reviewing and directing work product Technical proficiency in federal, state, local, and franchise tax compliance and planning Experience working directly with small to medium-sized business clients in a tax or business consulting capacity Strong organizational and project management skills across multiple concurrent engagements Preferred Qualifications 6 or more years of public accounting experience with a progression toward management Experience in a multi-office or regional public accounting firm environment Background in business consulting or advisory services beyond compliance work Familiarity with tax software platforms commonly used in public accounting (confirm specific platforms with client and add before posting) Interest in and readiness for a long-term partnership track Compensation and Benefits Base salary of $70,000 to $120,000, commensurate with experience and level Performance bonus Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan Paid time off Partnership track available for qualified candidates To Apply Submit your resume along with a brief summary of your public accounting and tax management experience.
