Accounting & Tax Supervisor

You're used to working busy season hours. You may not like it but that's the just the nature of working in public accounting. What's worse than working busy season hours? Working overtime hours all year round. I've heard the nightmare stories of candidates saying a 55-65 hour week is normal for them outside of busy season never mind during the deadlines. But it doesn't have to be like that. This small yet growing CPA firm was birthed from two partners who used to work in the big firms and those crazy hours. They decided they'd had enough and built their own firm where your whole life isn't spent doing over time. From May to December you'll be working 4 days a week, to give you time back from tax seasons. They mainly do accounting work for businesses with bookkeepers and tax work, they're able to offer proactive tax and strategic planning to their diverse client base from hedge funds to small businesses. We're helping them find a tax & accounting supervisor who can understand balance sheets, income statement accounts and general ledger activity as well as quickbooks and tax preparation. This is an in office position in New Milford CT. Experience in a public accounting firm is essential. Here's the thing about job applications - this is where most people trip up.
