Job Description
Global Payroll Tax Manager Arclin has an immediate opening for a full-time Global Payroll Tax Manager. This will be a hybrid role, based out of our Corporate Headquarters in Alpharetta, GA.
About Arclin:
Role Overview The Global Payroll Tax Manager leads Arclin's global payroll tax strategy, compliance, governance, and operational execution across all countries and legal entities. This role serves as the payroll tax subject matter expert, partnering with Payroll, Finance, HRIS, Accounting, Treasury, Legal, Internal Audit, and external service providers to ensure accurate filings and deposits, strengthen controls, reduce tax risk, and support global payroll transformation. Scope includes payroll tax strategy, compliance monitoring, tax funding oversight, tax notice and audit support, year-end reporting, payroll tax vendor governance, payroll tax controls, and collaboration on payroll system configuration and testing. The Global Payroll Tax Manager is accountable for recommending payroll tax governance standards, escalating compliance risks, prioritizing remediation actions, and advising leadership on payroll tax impacts related to business changes, system implementations, entity expansion, and acquisitions. Key Responsibilities Payroll Tax Strategy & Leadership- Lead global payroll tax strategy and governance to ensure consistent standards, clear ownership, and effective risk management across countries and legal entities.
- Establish payroll tax KPIs and compliance metrics, including filing timeliness, deposit accuracy, notice resolution cycle time, penalty trends, reconciliation completion, and control effectiveness.
- Support acquisitions, implementations, and payroll transformations. Payroll Tax Compliance
- Manage payroll tax compliance across domestic and international payroll operations.
- Monitor changes in payroll tax legislation and communicate impacts to payroll leadership.
- Partner with vendor to assist with payroll tax registrations, account maintenance, and jurisdictional setup.
- Review payroll tax filings prepared by third-party providers.
- Research and resolve payroll tax notices, agency inquiries, and employee tax issues.
- Support quarterly and year-end payroll tax activities.
- Ensure timely tax filings and deposits.
- Monitor legislative changes.
- Oversee year-end reporting and tax reconciliations. Payroll Tax Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare payroll tax reconciliations and tax variance analysis.
- Monitor tax balances and identify discrepancies requiring correction.
- Support W-2, year-end tax reporting, and payroll tax audits. Payroll Operations
- Partner with Payroll Analysts and Payroll Manager to resolve tax-related payroll issues.
- Assist with acquisitions, divestitures, legal entity setup, and new country implementations.
- Manage tax funding and general ledger tax reconciliations. Systems & Controls
- Support Workday/payroll tax configuration.
- Lead UAT and tax testing.
- Maintain SOX controls and documentation. Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage payroll tax vendors.
- Partner with HRIS, Finance, Treasury, Legal, and Shared Services. Process Improvement & Project Support
- Identify and drive opportunities to automate payroll tax activities and improve efficiency.
- Participate in payroll system implementations and payroll tax testing.
- Support payroll transformation initiatives impacting payroll tax.
- Develop procedures and job aids. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, HR, or related field.
- CPP preferred;
CPA/MST/FPC
desirable.- 8-10 years payroll tax experience with leadership.
- Multi-state expertise required; global payroll tax preferred.
- Experience with Workday, ADP SmartCompliance, UKG, Dayforce, SAP, or similar. Leadership Competencies
