Role Description We are looking for a technically strong business tax professional at the senior manager level to join the Business Tax division. The practice serves companies with $50M
- 500M in revenue across corporate, pass-through, and multi-state structures.
- entity structuring, ownership transitions, multi-state footprint optimization, and business restructuring Support M&A tax work
- tax due diligence, deal structuring analysis, and post-close tax integration, always in a tax advisory capacity Collaborate with NJA's personal tax and estate planning teams to integrate business-level tax strategy with owner-level wealth outcomes Manage client relationships at the day-to-day level
- responsive, technically credible, trusted Supervise, review, and develop a team of senior associates and associates beneath you Identify planning opportunities within existing client relationships and communicate them clearly to both clients and partners Contribute to specialty tax work including
SALT, R&D
credits, and other areas as the practice requires What We're Looking For Required CPA license required 10+ years of business tax experience, with meaningful time at a public accounting firm Deep technical proficiency in federal corporate tax compliance and planning- C-corps, partnerships, S-corps, and complex pass-through structures Multi-state tax compliance experience across a diverse client base Demonstrated ability to manage engagements, meet deadlines, and deliver without constant oversight Strong client communication skills — comfortable advising business owners directly A collaborative disposition: works well across practice lines and disciplines Nice to Have LLM in Taxation or J.
