This role is designed for a technically strong professional who takes pride in delivering high-quality work, managing client relationships, and leading engagement execution. This is a full-time, hybrid position based in Chicago's western suburbs, serving closely held businesses, their owners, and related entities. Responsibilities Review and manage preparation of federal and state income tax returns for closely held businesses, individuals, and trusts Own engagements from planning through delivery, including timelines, staffing, and client communication Ensure work is complete, accurate, and supported by clear documentation Analyze and resolve technical tax issues; escalate when appropriate Provide direct, actionable feedback to staff and seniors; support development through coaching Communicate proactively with clients to manage expectations and deliverables Maintain accountability for engagement timelines, budgets, and overall execution Contribute to and help lead tax planning and advisory engagements, focusing on practical outcomes Manage multiple engagements while maintaining quality and responsiveness Support continuous improvement in processes, workflow, and team communication Qualifications 3+ years of experience at the manager level in public accounting Strong technical foundation across pass-through entities, individual taxation, and multi-state compliance Demonstrated ability to independently manage engagements and make informed technical decisions High attention to detail Strong organizational and time management skills; able to prioritize effectively across competing demands Clear, direct communicator with both clients and internal teams CPA or EA required International Tax Experience a plus, but not required.
