Tax Manager / Senior Tax Manager Private Client Services | High Net Worth Individuals & Families The more you understand a client's life, the more interesting the tax work gets. Their businesses, investments, trusts and family plans all connect. Having the time to understand the whole picture is where you can really start to help. That's the opportunity within the Private Client Services team at this midsized CPA firm. You'll advise high net worth individuals, multigenerational families and closely held business owners, getting to know what matters to them now and what they're working towards. There's complex work beyond reviewing returns. Working closely with Senior Managers and Partners, you'll help clients think ahead about their wealth, businesses and family plans. The work spans individual tax, trusts, estates and related business entities. You'll have experienced colleagues around you, including a highly experienced Trust & Estate advisor to work alongside on more specialist matters. There's room to build on what you already enjoy. Perhaps you want to deepen your technical knowledge, take more ownership of client relationships or develop your confidence leading a team. This firm is open to those conversations. You'll have the resources and specialist knowledge of a midsized firm, with Partners who remain involved in the work and available to talk things through. When I spoke with the Partners, we spent time talking about staying independent. They have no plans to be acquired, they have their own success of growth and don't need any outside parties to support them in this. Turnover is low, and people tend to stay. In terms of your background, you'll need: A CPA qualification. Public accounting tax experience at Manager or Senior Manager level. A strong background in PCS, private wealth or a similar role advising high net worth individuals and families. Experience reviewing complex individual returns and related trust or business returns. Experience with tax planning and managing client relationships. Experience supporting and developing less experienced colleagues. Trust & Estate experience would be valuable, although it doesn't need to be your main specialism. If you enjoy the relationships as much as the technical work and want somewhere you can keep developing both, let's chat. Not ready with a resume? Or want a bit more information before applying? No problem. You can still apply the old-fashioned way, or just reach out to start a conversation with Imogen via LinkedIn or the Distinct Recruitment website or contact her cell at 312-584-9844. She'll be happy to tell you more about the firm, the job and the prospects before you commit further. Think you only have 87% of the required experience? Perfect - apply anyway. The CPA firms we partner with want diverse, interesting people, not corporate clones stamped from the same tedious mould. Don't overthink it. The worst outcome is a pleasant conversation about your career. The best? Well, that's where it gets rather exciting.
