We are seeking an experienced CPA or EA to lead our Tax Department and play an important role in the continued growth and success of our firm. The position is based in Littleton, Colorado , serving clients throughout the Denver metro area.
Compensation:
$115,000
- 145,000 annually , depending on experience, qualifications, technical expertise, and leadership experience.

About the Position The Tax Manager will lead the firm's Tax Department while remaining actively involved in complex tax engagements and important client relationships. This is both a leadership and technical role . You will oversee workflow, staffing, deadlines, quality control, training, technical research, and client relationships while continuing to use your tax expertise on complex engagements. The successful candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, sound business judgment, excellent communication skills, and a genuine interest in helping others succeed. Department Leadership Manage department workflow, staffing allocations, priorities, and internal deadlines. Monitor department performance, realization, utilization, and quality metrics. Lead mentoring, staff development, and performance review processes. Participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding. Coordinate department training and continuing education. Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and profitability. Foster a collaborative, professional, and supportive team environment. Technical Tax Leadership Prepare and review complex Forms 1040, 1065, 1120S, 1120, 1041, 709, and 990 . Research complex federal and state tax issues and develop well-supported tax positions. Serve as a technical resource for other members of the Tax Department. Establish and communicate tax policies, procedures, and technical guidance. Oversee extension management, e-filing, and tax notice resolution. Maintain high standards of quality control across all engagements. Stay current with changes in tax law and communicate relevant developments to the team and clients. Client Advisory & Relationships Our Tax Managers are more than return reviewers. Responsibilities include:
Serve as a trusted tax advisor to business and individual clients. Provide proactive tax planning and consulting. Lead client meetings and significant tax discussions. Develop and maintain strong, long-term client relationships. Identify opportunities to provide additional value to clients. Support client retention and firm growth through exceptional service. Communicate complex tax issues clearly and practically. What We're Looking ForRequired Active CPA or EA credential in good standing . Significant experience preparing and reviewing complex tax returns. Experience supervising, mentoring, and developing tax professionals. Strong tax research and technical problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality and deadlines. Commitment to exceptional client service. Preferred Public accounting management experience. Experience leading a tax department, team, or service line. Experience with tax planning and advisory services. Experience working with closely held businesses and their owners. Business development or relationship management experience.
