This is a rare opportunity to step into a role with end-to-end ownership of complex tax planning and compliance for a single, multi-generational family. This is not a high-volume busy-season roleits a high-trust, high-accountability environment where youll gain deep, long-term insight into the clients tax and financial landscape and play a meaningful role in supporting them over time.

The OpportunityYoull lead the full tax compliance and planning lifecycle for three generations of family members, spouses, and related entities, partnering with internal stakeholders and outside advisors to deliver excellent outcomes. This position reports to the Senior Director of Tax and includes review of, and guidance on, work prepared by the Senior Tax Accountant.

What Youll DoCompliance Ownership & ReviewOwn preparation and review of complex federal and state filings, including Individual (1040), Trust (1041), Gift (709), Partnership (1065), and Private Foundation (990-PF) returnsReview work prepared by the Senior Tax Accountant to ensure accuracy and reduce riskCalculate and timely file/pay quarterly estimates and extension paymentsPlanning, Projections & AdvisoryExecute proactive income and estate tax planning, including cash-tax management and wealth-transfer strategiesPrepare multi-year projections and planning analyses that support smart decisions over timeResearch and advise on evolving tax law affecting HNW individuals, trusts, operating entities, and private foundationsProcess Improvement & Issue ResolutionImprove compliance workflow and leverage technology to manage a growing volume of returnsRespond to IRS and state notices and examinations in a timely mannerWho Will Thrive in This RoleYou want to move beyond high-volume client service and go deeper with fewer, more complex situationsYou enjoy technical work and want to see the long-term impact of your planning decisionsYou are ready to own work end-to-end, rather than contribute just one piece of the processYou value a high-trust, low-ego environment where your judgment and discretion matterYou prefer a small, collaborative team where your impact is visibleWhat We're Looking For6+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting serving HNW clients and/or family officesBachelors degree in Accounting required; MBT or Master of Accountancy preferredActive CPA license requiredStrong knowledge of individual, trust, gift/estate, partnership, and foundation taxation; proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., OneSource/GoSystems)Exceptional attention to detail, strong client-service mindset, excellent communication and organization skills, and the discretion required in a family office environmentCompensation & BenefitsProjected salary range: $130,000-$160,000, depending on qualifications, relevant experience and skillsEligible for an annual bonus opportunityBenefits designed to support health, well-being, and financial security, including medical/dental/vision coverage, 401(k) with company match, life and disability insurance programs, HSA/FSA options, and professional development/certification & licensure supportWork Location & ScheduleHybrid work environment with a minimum of three in-office days per weekLocated at Carlson Towers in Minnetonka, with onsite amenities including caf and fitness centerReady to Apply?
